Invitation card

Invitation card

Description

A pearlescent blue greetings card features a rectangle of pale blue mulberry paper. Mounted on this are three silver edged window stickers. Each clear sticker covers a small daisy head punched fron pearlescent silver card. Each daisy head has a jewelled centre. The card is finished with a silver Invitation sticker. This would make an ideal invitation for a wedding or a celebration for a silver or diamond wedding anniversary.

Materials used

  • Pearlescent blue single fold deckle edge greetings card 104mm x 152mm (4¼ x 6 in)
  • Clear plastic window stickers with silver border 20 mm square
  • Thin pearlescent silver card
  • Pale blue mulberry paper
  • 3 jewels
  • Silver sticker Invitation
  • Small daisy punch
  • Card adhesive
  • Small brush

Method

The mulberry paper rectangle has a feathered edge. This edge is created by taking a small paintbrush dipped in water and drawing the outline of the rectangle on a larger piece of mulberry paper. Use just enough water so the paper tears apart easily leaving an attractive feathered edge.

Mount the mulberry paper on the card with adhesive.

Add the three window stickers using the illustration as a guide.

Punch three small daisy heads from pearlescent silver card. Mount each of these on a clear window sticker. Fix with adhesive.

Add a small jewel to the centre of each daisy head. Fix with adhesive.

Add a silver 'Invitation' sticker below the mulberry paper rectangle.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
