Candles and holly Christmas card

Candles and holly Christmas card

Description

A textured ivory card has a silver sticker of candles and holly mounted in an aperture. The sticker is mounted on acetate film and coloured with Identi-pens. The area around the candle flame is left clear so a silver paper backing shows through.

Materials used

  • Textured ivory double fold greetings card 100mm x 100mm (4 ins x 4 ins)
  • Sticker Candles and Holly
  • Silver paper
  • Acetate film
  • Identi-pens
  • Pritt-Stick adhesive
  • Double sided adhesive tape

Method

Mount the candles and holly sticker on a square of acetate film. The film should be about 20mm (¾ inch) larger than the card aperture.

Turn the acetate over so the sticker is face down and colour the illustration on the back with Identi-pen permanent markers. Leave the area around the candle flame clear.

Cut a square of silver paper the same size as the acetate film. Glue the surface of the silver paper with Pritt-Stick and mount the silver paper on the back of the acetate.

Open the double fold greeting card and lay it face down on the work surface. Put strips of double-sided tape around the aperture. Position it so half the width of the tape will hold the sticker assembly in place and the other half will secure the card panel when closed.

Close the left hand panel of the card over the aperture.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
