Method

Grid

Nine squares grid

Use a ruler to draw a grid with nine squares on a sheet of paper, as in the drawing above. The grid should be a little smaller than the card aperture and each square equal in size.

Cut a piece of acetate film just larger than the card aperture

Lay the acetate film over the paper and trace the ruled lines with a black permanent marker pen. The side with the ruled lines will be the back of the acetate.

Put stickers on the front side of the acetate in the centre of six of the squares as shown in the photograph above.

Colour in the sticker shapes on the back of the acetate film with permanent marker pens.

Cut three squares of double-sided self-adhesive sheet the same size as the inside of the grid squares.

Peel off the backing of one of these squares and stick it on the front of the acetate grid in the bottom left hand corner.

Remove the top layer of the self-adhesive square and sprinkle with gold glitter. Press the glitter in place and then shake off the surplus.

Repeat on the bottom right square using pastel blue glitter and on the top right square with crystal glitter.

Mount the acetate in the aperture of the greeting card using double-sided tape.

Fix a square of dark blue Mulberry paper behind the acetate as a background.

With the inside of the card uppermost close the left hand side of the card over the aperture and fix down.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
