Just a Bear card

Description

A cartoon bear is stamped on white card and enhanced with psychedelic embossing powder. The bear carries an added bunch of flowers. These are mounted on a dark blue deckle edge card. The background is watermark stamped with small butterflies. Happy Birthday is stamped in silver and embossed with Aegean silver.

Materials used

• Dark blue deckle edge greetings card 104mm x 152mm (4¼ in x 6 in)

• VersaMark Ink Pad
• Encore Ultimate Metallic Ink Pad Silver
• Black Ink Pad
• Aegean Silver Embossing Powder
• Judikins Embossing Powder Psychedelic
• Dauber Duo Silver
• Tombow Bush Pens
• White card
• Adhesive
• Embossing Heat Tool
• Scissors

Method

Watermark stamp the small butterfly at random intervals on the background of the greetings card using the VersaMark ink pad. The effect is shown in the right hand illustration.

Stamp and emboss "Happy Birthday" at the top of the card using silver ink and Aegean silver embossing powder.

Edge the card in silver with a Dauber Duo.

Stamp the Hobby Art bear on white card in black ink and emboss with Judikins Psychedelic embossing powder.

Stamp the flowers on white card, emboss with Judikins Psychedelic embossing powder and colour with Tombow brush pens.

Cut out the bear slightly wider than the image.

Cut out the flowers accurately. Make a slot at the top and bottom of the bear's paw and slot the flowers through using the illustration as a guide.

Mount the bear on the greetings card with adhesive.
