Holly season's greetings card

Holly Season's Greetings Card

Description

A hammered cream card has a holly design stamped three times; once on a shadow stamp square inked with soft celery and twice in a lighter version. The holly berries are coloured in red ink on the main holly design and red dots are added around the lighter versions. The card is finished with gold border stickers and a Season's Greetings sticker coloured red.

Materials used

  • Hammered cream deckle edge greetings card 88mm x 114mm (3½ x 4½ ins)
  • Rubber stamp Hero Arts LL706 Holly (part of set with pad)
  • Rubber stamp Hero Arts B1918 Background IV
  • Memories dye ink pad for shadow stamping soft celery
  • Tombow brush pen red
  • Tombow brush pen green 177
  • Identi-Pen in red
  • Sticker No 18 Season's Greetings
  • Sticker No 81 gold border

Method

Stamp a square in soft celery ink with the Hero background stamp. It is 35mm from the top of the card and 15mm from the left-hand fold edge.

Ink the holly stamp with a green Tombow pen and stamp it on the square.

Ink the holly stamp again, stamp it on a piece of paper to reduce the colour and then stamp it on the card to the top right of the first stamp.

Ink the holly stamp again, stamp it on a piece of paper and then stamp it on the card to the bottom right of the first stamp.

Colour the holly berries of the first stamp with a red pen. Add red dots around the other two stamps. See the illustration for position.

Colour a Season's Greetings peel-off sticker with a red Identi-Pen. It is best to do this before pealing it off its backing. Mount the greeting on the card.

Add lines of border stickers. These are actually the pieces left behind when the chain border has been used.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
