Happy Birthday Parcels Card

Description

Marbled pink card is overlaid with vellum and stamped with a Birthday parcels design. This is embossed in gold and touches of glitter are added. The corners are rounded with a punch. A gold ribbon bow adds the finishing touch.

Materials used

  • A sheet of marbled pink card 210 mm x 148 mm (5¾ in x 8¼ in)
  • A sheet of vellum 210 mm x 148 mm (5¾ in x 8¼ in)
  • A sheet of cream paper 210 mm x 148 mm (5¾ in x 8¼ in)
  • Rubber stamp De Nami P45 Birthday Scene
  • Tinted stamp pad
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Gold glitter glue
  • Tombow Brush Pens in pink and purple
  • Gold pen
  • Corner rounder punch
  • Gold ribbon
  • Adhesive
  • Guillotine or craft knife & steel ruler

Method

Fold the sheet of marbled pink card in half to make a greeting card 148 mm x 105 mm.

Fold the sheet of vellum in half.

Stamp the Birthday Scene on the velum with a tinted ink pad and emboss with gold powder.

Colour the parcel ribbons with pink and purple Tombow Brush Pens.

Add a dot of glitter glue at the joints of each of the parcel bows and two dots on the centre strip of the centre parcel.

Wrap the vellum around the marbled card.

Ribbon detailJoin the inner and outer layer of the card together with the ribbon. To do this make two slots the width of the ribbon and about 8 mm apart through both layers near the top. Thread the ribbon through both slots from outside to inside. Thread the ribbon back to the front through the opposite slots.

Line the inside of the card with cream paper to hide the ribbon. Glue this in place.

Trim a little bit off the three open edges of the card with a guillotine to make them neat.

Trim the four corners with a corner rounder punch.

Draw a gold line around the edge of the card.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
