For Someone Special card

For Someone Special butterfly card

Description

A square white card has a parchment wrapper decorated with a stamped, cutout butterfly. A greeting "For Someone Special" is stamped in red ink. Glitter glue clouds and corner pen decorations complete the design.

Materials used

  • Square textured deckle edge natural white card 144mm x 144 mm (5¾ ins x 5¾ ins)
  • Sheet of parchment or tracing paper
  • Stamp De Nami I18 Full View Butterfly
  • Stamp De Nami J25 Someone Special
  • Tinted ink stamp pad
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Clear glitter glue
  • Red Tombow brush pen
  • Adhesive
  • Heat embossing tool

Method

Cut the parchment paper slightly smaller than the open greeting card. Allow about 3mm at all edges.

Wrap the parchment paper around the card and fix it lightly with adhesive at the fold edge.

Stamp the butterfly on another piece of parchment paper with tinted ink and emboss with gold powder.

Colour the butterfly on the back of the parchment with a red Tombow brush pen. Leave the two inner hearts on the top wings clear. Add glitter glue to the front of these clear hearts.

Cut out the butterfly.

Stamp the For Someone Special greeting on the parchment. It is inked with the red Tombow brush pen. You may find the ink dries before you are ready to stamp the design so a useful tip is to breath heavily on the stamp to moisten the ink.

Draw freehand clouds on the parchment with clear glitter glue.

Mount the butterfly on the card with adhesive.

Add dotted corner decorations with the fine tip of the red pen.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
