Dove Christmas card

Dove Christmas card

Description

A double-fold card with a half circle cut and folded forward. A cut-out dove is mounted over this. It has a rectangle with a greetings sticker. The card is trimmed with silver strip and highlighted with glitter glue.

Materials used

  • Dark blue double fold greetings card 104mm x 152mm
  • Rubber stamp De Nami J22 Med. Dove (left)
  • White card
  • Silver inkpad
  • Silver embossing powder
  • Clear or Crystal glitter glue
  • Matt silver self-adhesive strip
  • Sticker No. 68 Season's Greetings
  • Double-sided self-adhesive foam pads
  • Blue star backing paper
  • Circle cutter

Method

Stamp the dove on white card with a tinted or silver ink pad and emboss with silver embossing powder. Following the stamped lines highlight the dove with clear/crystal glitter glue. When the glitter glue is dry cut the dove out.

On a rectangle of the same card fix a Seasons Greetings sticker. Trim the border with matt silver Mastermount self-adhesive strip.

Using a circle cutter, cut a half circle 7 cm in diameter into the top half of the centre panel of a dark blue double fold card. Score across the diameter of the circle and fold down the top half circle of the card. Fix it in position with a double-sided foam pad.

Fix a piece of blue star backing paper behind the half circle aperture.

With the inside of the card uppermost close the left hand side of the card over the backing paper/aperture and fix down.

Fix the dove in position with a foam pad.

Trim round the border of the card with matt silver Mastermount self-adhesive strip.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
